More stuff about the music and stories on this week’s Melodica. All the shows are archived on the Chris Coco page at Mixcloud. Melodica chart on Juno Download: here. THAT FUZZY FEELING: CRACKPOT – ROBOPOTAMUS. This is taken from an excellent album by Melbourne based act Crackpot. It was given to me by a very nice man at my regular gig at The Player in Soho. I listened to it all the way through the next morning and chose this tune as tune of the week. It’s quirky, alt.poppy downtempo, sort of new and familiar at the same time. SEPALCURE – LOVE PRESSURE REMIXES Remixes of one of my favourite Sepalcure tracks coming soon on the ever-reliable Hotflush record label with takes from XI, Falty DL, Jimmy Edgar, Daedelus and Lando Kal. A STRANGE JOURNEY INTO THE WORLD OF THE BLUE MOON a couple of weeks ago I played on a boat in Greece. ONe of the requirements was music for the full moon. Naively I imagined everyone standing around admiring the sea and the moon as we cruised across the silvery Aegean. Of course, they actually wanted party music, but I did do some research into tunes with moon in the title. Some of them feature in this week’s show. Wings – C Moon – Apple Nat King Cole – Blue Moon – Capitol Tom Waits – I’ll Shoot The Moon – Alka-Seltzer Lightnin’ Hopkins – Shining Moon – RST Records Chet Baker – Moon Love – Capitol

More stuff about the music and stories on this week’s Melodica. All the shows are archived on the Chris Coco page at Mixcloud. Melodica chart on Juno Download: here. THAT FUZZY FEELING: JAMIE L – SOMETHING BETTER The mysterious Jamie L with his debut release on Paper Recordings. This week’s tune of the week is the Better Days Dub, fine atmospheric deep disco. LOCUSSOLUS – NEXT TO YOU REMIXES Soul Clap have done it again with a fine remix of DJ Harvey aka Locussolus’s Next To You. It’s that space between house and slo-mo disco and 80s that seems to be working so well at the moment DAVID RODIGAN’S DUB SHOWER This is an interesting compilation of classic 70 dub put together by Mr Reggae himself, David Rodigan. This stuff feels timeless and listening to it always feel, in some strange way, like coming home. FATBERRIS.COM If you like that Sebastian Tellier vs Billie Holliday bootleg that I have been playing on the show, check out fatberris.com. You can listen to more work by Lulu Rouge and download some of their mash-ups.
