Follow Chris Coco on MixcloudTHAT FUZZY FEELING: LAPALUX – MOMENTS The When You’re Gone EP is new and exciting gear from Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. It features this week’s tune of the week, the wonderful twisted r&b moment entitled Moment. Lapalux’s real name is Stuart Howard and he made his name, it says on the Brainfeeder site, with a cassette-only release, My Faces Out Of Focus. This is contemporary pop pushed through a sonic filter and reconfigured and different speeds in tiny fragments. it’s beautiful. LILACS & CHAMPAGNE More deeply twisted sounds can be found on the new album from Alex Hall and Emil Amos, also known as Lilacs & Champagne. The album is out on the excellent Mexican Summer label. BULLION Fine, fresh, Balearic electronic music from the legendary R&S label in the shape of new signing Bullion with Say Arr Ee. I think I will. LOVE IS THE DRUG Self explanatory really, Todd Terje on the disco dub of Roxy Music’s classic Love Is The Drug. On the flip, Prins Thomas takes on Avalon. What’s not to like?

Chris Coco’s weekly radio broadcast. An eclectic selection of brilliant new music starting with house and moving on to electronica, downtempo, acoustic and all sorts of other styles loosely connected to dance and electronic music. Let tastemaker Chris Coco guide you through his selection of the week’s best new music. This episode is stuffed full of electronic, super-Balearic treats. Roxy Music in Dub, new stuff on R&S, Brainfeeder, Mexican Summer and Echocord. Actually, it’s totally delightful and really rather excitingly spacy. Follow Chris Coco on MixcloudTHAT FUZZY FEELING: PACIFIC HORIZONS – BEACHES (COSMODELICA REMIX) This one’s a bit of mystery. I got hold of it direct from DJ Cosmo, who plays magnificent music, does Loft parties and Classic Album Sundays. So there’s no info about Pacific Horizons but the combo make a fine, happy, summery Balearic sound that shoots me straight into a bright summer feeling. IT’S THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT Theres a bit of a (vague) theme running through the show. For more on that I refer you to this blog. But don’t miss the magnificently party friendly Dimitri From Paris remix of Storm Queen’s modern classic Look Right Through to see how good the same but different can really be. A SAGGITARIUN Space Dub Dream, is a self explanatory title if ever there was one. So you have here a fine example of spacy, hippy dub music from an interesting EP on the Elastic Dreams label. There are a variety of style on the EP from dub to jazzy soundscapes. So, perfect for Melodica then.

Never Mind The Baltics

Out into the deep bright night for Disappearing Dining Club’s Never Mind The Baltics, up in the frozen north of out fair city, well Hackney Downs to be precise, complete with authentic snow effect, blasted in on an easterly. The menu included Baltic hot pop and Fred’s traditional Swedish Aquavit, which I am still feeling the effects of in the shape of a head band made of iron; plus the delicious desert of Gooding and Coco on the decks. The ride home featured blurry bus rides across the sliding capital, night bus on road, red on white.
