So, I have been in Ireland at Sacha Puttnam’s Riverside Studio, making some new music with a lot of help from the magnificent Cairan O’Shea. Here is a collection of images that have already appeared on my Tumblr and Twitter but need to be here as well for the record. There are ten new tunes with these working titles: Poly 6 100 Billion Euros Drops Simple Bicycle Café Human Joy of Six (Jam 3) Flight (Chilly) Jam 2 (Kaoss) As you can see, most of those titles will change but the music will form the basis of the next Coco album.

This Episode is blue, it’s in a funny shaped glass and it’s got a sparkler and an umbrella stuck into a bit of pineapple on the top. In other words this week’s Melodica is a bit of a musical cocktail – we have some spacy disco, a shot of new bass house, a muddle of 80s drum machines, a dash of deep meditative electronica, some Balearic indie and a splash of soundtrack jazz. Delicious. Forget about the biscuits, this episode it’s all about a fat doorstep of bread and honey with a cup of tea, deciding whether those new albums from Ducktails, Nosaj Thing, Darkstar and Asphodells are real contenders and wondering whether Apollo will ever release something that doesn’t make it to tune of the week. Down to Welling for a little view of James McArthur recording his new single. Drums, piano, guitar, vocals, mandolin, violin… This is real.
