THAT FUZZY FEELING: FATIMA & FLOATING POINTS – RED LIGHT
This is the first track to emerge from a new EP of glitchy soul from Flaoting Points, the masters of that style, and the wonderful Fatima. The EP is called Follow You and it’s coming in May on Elgo Records.
TWISTED ROOTS
On my recent trip to Finland I found a most excellent album made by Marko Nyberg from Husky Rescue. It soundtracks the movie Twisted Roots in a city folk acoustic style but stands up as a good album listen in it’s own right too.
THE MYTHICAL BEASTS
Those lovely people at International Feel keep coming up with the Balearic disco goods. Hear The Mythical Beasts – Communicate on this week’s show. This excellent slab of slo mo disco is coming in May on 180g vinyl with deluxe packaging.
DJ KICKS
The big album release of the week is the new DJ Kicks mix from Melodica favourites Wolf + Lamb and Soulclap, and yes it’s as deep and eclectic as you would expect. It’s also one of those albums that you can play again and again, it’s good a great consistently deep feel even though there are plenty of tempo and mood changes. It’s going to be hard to beat this one as mix compilation of the year.
