More stuff about the music and stories on this weekâs Melodica – this week it’s all about bears (sort of).
In tune with the Melodica aesthetic, covering a broad range of exciting, inspiring, beautiful new music from electronica to house to experimental.

One of my all time favourite tunes of all time has been remixed by two of my favourite remixers of the moment. Which translated means, I simply had to start the show this week with the Soulclap and Gadi mizrahi remix of Robert Owens’ 90s club anthem I’ll Be Your Friend. As you might imagine I think it is rather good.

THAT FUZZY FEELING: MITZI – INDIA
More fine SloMoDisco from label of the moment Future Classic Australia. It makes sense that music like this should be making a big splash down under. It’s also great to see the Aussies pushing forward musically instead of waiting for the latest trend from Europe or America. This is what the label say about their act:
Mitzi are a 4 piece of awesomeness made up of Dominiqe Bird, Jad Lee, Charlie Murdoch and Cale Suesskow. They all hail from Australiaâs most laidback and sunny city Brisbane. Some people call it Brisvegas because its sexy too.
COMING SOON: MORE ESSENTIAL ALBUMS
Bon Iver’s follow-up to the breakthrough debut For Emma, Forever Ago is out in June. As is the way now you can download Calgary, the first track to be made available from it for free on the Bon Iver website. The new album is self-titled, though there is some debate among fans whether it will be called Bon Iver or Bon Iver, Bon Iver. Only time will tell.
Also out in June is Dayve Hawk aka Memory Tapes’ new album Player Piano.
Agin there are a couple of tracks floating around online already and I play Wait In The Dark on this week’s show.
Post soul cut up act Leterette release their second EP on Ho Tep in June. It’s loud, brash, modern and rather beautiful, In and Out is featured on this week’s show.
