THAT FUZZY FEELING: DML – SENDLING
The first track on a fine EP of deep, dub techno from Munich based Dirk Lamprecht. This is Burial meets Basic Channel, nothing new but a great listen, a great example of a particular style that always feels right.
THE PROJECT CLUB
The forthcoming single from Balearic disciples The Project Club is a typically drifty, slightly psychadelic sunset piece called, in perfect Spanglish, En El Mar Y La Luna. Find it on Is It Balearic? records.
GOLD PANDA
Get MPB, a new scattery, glitchy electronica track from Melodica favourite Gold Panda at iamggoldpanda.com.
FOLK ROCK
Similarly, free tunes from the Folk Rock album to be had on the
Heavenly Recordings site.
BON IVER
Bon Iver’s album is here and it is as fine as we expected. I listened to it twice, right through, on headphones, the other night, like it was the old days. It’s a beautifully crafted record that feels honest and real in a really modern way. He’s using plenty of real instruments that sound like electronics; the lyrics feel beautiful even though most of the time I don’t really know what he’s talking about. But maybe that’s it. It’s music. It’s all about feel.
HOLY OTHER
A great EP of post-dubstep electronica from Holy Other. This is strong, lovely emotional music. It’s out now on Triangle Records.
