THAT FUZZY FEELING: LOCUSSOLUS – I WANT IT (LINDSTROM & PRINS THOMAS REMIX)
Locussolus is the latest musical project from Harvey Bassett aka DJ Harvey. The album of the same name comes in June on the International Feel label, vinyl, digital and CD versions all carrying a different selection of tracks. This one is a party beauty, remixed by Scandinavian scamps Lindstrom and Prins Thomas. More from the album in the coming weeks.
ALEX AND THE GRIZZLY
Alex And The Grizzly is a fine collaboraration between prolific musician and producer Christian Prommer and Alex Barck, one of the founders of Jazzanova and SonarKollektiv. It’s an eclectic mix, by turns poppy, dubby, housey, all featuring Alex on vocals. Well worth investigating.
YOU STAND UNCERTAIN
The new album from American beats man Falty DL is called You Stand Uncertain. It’s out now on the most excellent Planet Mu label and features, as expected a range of electronic grooves from the cool and laidback to the extremely hectic. Nice stuff.
STRINGS WOOD AND A BOX OF AIR: HISS GOLDEN MESSENGER
This week’s guitar moment comes from a new, rather fine, mini LP from Hiss Golden Messenger, it’s classic, beautifully constructed pop rock I guess. Not a lot of electro experimentation but the songs and the performance are so strong that really doesn’t matter.
REEKIN’STURCTIONS
The Revenge have built a strong reputation for quality remixes and re-edits. They have an album coming on the Z Records label that features and fine selection of their work. It’s called Reekin’structions.
